Last Training Week

This was the last week before the 2007 Corporate USCAA track meet in San Diego. I mostly took it easy - one long run, one time-trial 1000, and a lot of easy runs. The 1000, I was shooting for 2:55-3:00, since I am attempting to hit 3:30-3:35 on a 1200. I stayed even through the 400 and the 800, but and thought I picked it up a little through the last 200, but actually struggled a little. I'm confident in a race situation that I will hit 3:30 or faster!

Here's to hoping I do very well in my relays! After the meet, I am planning on visiting Sequoia National Park and climbing Mount Whitney as a reward!

Last Hard Week

Last week of hard training - I got 3 hard workouts in. I will do one hard workout next week, and then easy runs and stretching getting ready for San Diego.

I ran 600 time trials with two other TI runners on Thursday morning - tough! Then, I tried running an 800 time trial on Saturday - but, it apparently wasn't enough recovery time for me. My time was ok, but the last lap, my legs were dead, and I couldn't go any faster! One more medium hard workout on Tuesday, and then the meet next weekend. Looks like I will be running 1200 and mile instead of 800 at this point.

Vacation Week

Went out of town this week, so it limited my running time - I still had 2 good hard workouts. One more tough week, and then a ramp-down week before San Diego!

Interval 1 - 6 x 600 @ 1:52 - run at altitude (4400 ft), so recovery seemed longer
Interval 2 - 6 x 300 @ :47, 500 jog recovery
